Car Selection

The car selection process was simple:

• Wanted an SUV

• Had to be a BMW

• No requirement for power (already have an M850 to play with..)

The options were basically the X3/4/5/6/7.

X7 was excluded right off the bat because it’s too ugly, those squinty headlights are unbearable. The new versions of the X5/6 are out, but the old ones didn’t have much discount. I didn’t want to wait and didn’t want to spend too much either, plus I felt like the X5/6 were too big, so they were excluded. The X3/4 were pretty much the same, but the X3 had a bigger discount of 9%, so I went with the X3. With a bunch of coupons I got from participating in previous BMW events, I got a discount of around 16%.

Car Ordering

The price for a car in stock and one that is ordered is the same. Since I wasn’t in a rush to get a car, I went ahead and ordered one. Although power wasn’t a priority, the look had to be on point. So…

• Added the M Sport Package

• Added the Shadowline Package

• Added 20-inch M double-spoke bi-color wheels

Added some other comfortable features, and the MSRP went from $47,000 to $55,000…

The X3 is pretty much the car of the people now, so I won’t go into too much detail. The BMW interior, except for the hideous iDrive 8, is pretty much the same across all the ID7 models, so no need to show pictures.
