诚实的意思What Honesty Means
大部分时候，一个人闪光的地方是要花费时间和关心才能察觉的。总结起来，不管是什么性别，年龄，职业，着装，谈吐，个性的人，最让我欣赏的往往都是诚实，即使这种诚实会暴露出这个人的脆弱，怯懦，虚荣，幼稚，乏味等等，也都不会令我因此看轻，反而有可能让我见识到某种新鲜而可爱的天真。见识到这些，也让我看待世界更丰富和温柔。
一个人的优点很难独立存在，往往背面就是缺点。打比如说我这种温柔，从某个方面看也是一种疏离。很难从这种通常都有两面的东西来评价一个人。所以诚实的意思，就是接受真实的自己，并且因此不苛责他人。这一点，不管是我看待别人还是看待自己，都特别重要。
Most of the time, the places where a person shines take time and care to notice. Summing it up: no matter someone’s gender, age, profession, dress, manner of speaking, or personality, what I admire most is almost always honesty. Even when that honesty exposes the person’s fragility, cowardice, vanity, childishness, dullness and so on, it never makes me think less of them; if anything, it may let me glimpse some fresh and lovable innocence. Seeing these things also lets me look at the world with more richness and tenderness.
A person’s virtues can hardly exist on their own; the reverse side is usually a flaw. Take my kind of tenderness, for example: seen from a certain angle it is also a kind of distance. It is hard to judge a person by things that almost always have two sides. So what honesty means is accepting your true self, and, because of that, not being harsh with others. This point matters enormously, whether I am looking at others or at myself.
